Freshford United beat Bradford United for second week running
Freshford United thrashed local rivals Bradford United 7-1 to close to within two points of Trowbridge Windows & Conservatories Trowbridge & District League Division 1 leaders Boomsbury with a game in hand.
Bradford - who had lost 3-0 to Freshford when the two teams met seven days earlier - took an early lead through John Williams but a Steve Roddy hat-trick and two goals apiece from Andy Donald and Nick Angell ensured an ultimately comfortable afternoon for the hosts.
It was a better afternoon for Bradford United Reserves, whose 3-0 win over The Fleece saw them leapfrog their opponents and go up to second in Division 3.
All the goals came in the second half, with Phil Radwell breaking the deadlock and Marc Taylor doubling the lead with a bullet header before Scott Mitchell’s spectacular 40-yard drive wrapped things up.

Table-topping Westwood Social Club had not played since the start of the year due to the weather but showed no signs of rustiness on their return as they thumped Polenez Westbury 8-2.
Westwood's Ben Cowdrey saw his opener overturned by Przemek Pogorzolsli and Miroslav Uszpelkat but that was as good as it got for the visitors as Josh Maguire, Ashley Styles, Tom Rooney, Richard Jones plus substitutes Jonny Andrews and Ben Ludwell (2) secured an 11th straight win for Mark Hurkett’s men.
