French foiled in draw
BATH APPROACH The day's best round earned George Thurston a share of the spoils with Malcolm French in the seniors' Division 1.
French doubled his halfway lead to two holes early on the back nine before Thurston hit back for a draw.
Colin Lee climbed up to second spot in the table after beating Sue Norris in a tough encounter. Lee held a two-hole lead before winless Norris' mistake on the 17th handed him the points.
Terry Selway maintained his 100 per cent league record with a narrow victory over Richard Randall, who went round in one over nett par. Selway edged ahead on the ninth and won the next two to open up a decisive lead.

Bob McGregor overcame a difficult opponent in Colin Gamlin to record his first league win of the season. McGregor completed the back nine in par to make certain of the points with two to play.
Bernard Roots won a keenly-contested Division 2 encounter against the previously unbeaten John Sercombe. A birdie on the seventh gave Sercombe the edge at the turn but Roots hit back and wrapped up the points on the penultimate hole.
New member Craig Jones claimed his maiden success at the expense of an out-of-form Tony Damon. Jones was six up at the turn and won with the same number of holes to play.
Dennis Crombie continued his excellent form with a convincing victory over Ingrid Doherty and now lies second in the standings. Doherty kept the deficit down to two on the front nine but Crombie birdied the tenth to retain the momentum and secured victory with four holes remaining.
Roger Randall kept up his promotion challenge with a comfortable win over Brian Lambern, leading by three at the turn before triumphing on the 15th.
John Grubb achieved his best round since July to hand Tiger Lewis a first league defeat of the season. Grubb won four holes without reply on the back nine.
Reg Morris went to the top of League Cup Group B with a comfortable win over Colin Lee. He was two up at the turn and doubled his lead before sealing victory with a half on the 15th.
Brian Wickham made a good start in Group A as he coasted past Brian Woodford, taking an early lead before winning the contest with two holes to play.
