Flood drama as trapped OAP is plucked to safety
An elderly man was pulled from his car by rescuers after he became stranded in rising flood water in Keynsham.
His vehicle had been spotted in water near Broadmead Lane by David Dunn and his 13-year-old son Cameron, who managed to pull the pensioner to safety.
Mr Dunn, 35, was driving his Land Rover when they spotted the car in a rising torrent on Sunday.
Despite the danger, he drove right up to the man as the current threatened to sweep the car away.

He climbed out of his 4x4 and on to the bonnet before pulling the man through the window to safety.
The man, who is thought to live nearby, was shaken but unhurt following the ordeal.
Mr Dunn, from St Anne's, in Bristol, said: "We went out in the Land Rover to have a look at the flooding in the area and on our way back we saw the car in the water.
"As we looked a little closer we could make a person out so decided to drive up to it.
"I climbed out on to my bonnet and got him out of the window.
"It was getting dark and the car was submerged.
"He was old and the car was filling with cold water. It doesn't take long for hypothermia to set in.
"He was a bit shaken but he held on to a ladder on the roof of the car and we got him out.
"He was quite quiet and I offered to take him somewhere but he said he was fine and he'd just go home and change clothes."
Mr Dunn, who works in building and maintenance and is an experienced off-roader, said he had never seen such conditions in the area.
He added: "I've never seen anything like it."
