A Bath company has pledged support to the British Transplant Games by becoming the first corporate sponsor.

Touchstone, which is part of property services organisation Paladin Group, has donated £7,000 to pay for medals and the commemorative gift for each athlete.

Staff from the company, based at the Crescent Office Park at Rush Hill, will be running the Bath Half Marathon on Sunday to raise the money.

Any more raised over this amount will be donated to the Donor Family Network.

Director John Midgley said: “We are delighted to be supporting the British Transplant Games, which show how individuals and families can be transformed through organ donation.

“The participants are true heroes who have overcome adversity to take part in this fantastic event.

“Touchstone has pledged to sponsor the games but we also want to get involved in other ways and so staff will be taking part in the 2010 Bath Half Marathon, Donor Run and volunteering over the games weekend – and, of course, making known their views in respect of organ donations.”

The Donor Family Network is run by donor families for donor families.

It supports families of a donor, and promotes organ donation.
