England call up Somerset star Nick Compton as Pietersen misses out
Somerset batsman Nick Compton has been named in England's Test squad for the tour of India.
But Kevin Pietersen has been left out of the 16-man Test squad after he was omitted from the final Test against South Africa.

Pietersen’s omission opens the way for Compton, the 29-year-old grandson of Denis, who was the top English batsman in the county championship last season with an average of 99.
Also named for the tour of India is Joe Root, 21, who opened the batting for Yorkshire averaging 43.41 and could fill the gap left by the retirement of Andrew Strauss.
