Driver cut free after crash on M4 motorway near Bath
A man had to be cut free from his car after a crash on the M4 north of Bath last night.
Emergency crews were called to the eastbound carriageway between junctions 17 and 18 at 8.35pm to reports of a collision between a lorry and a Honda Prelude car.
The driver of the car, a man in his 30s, was conscious and breathing when they arrived, but there were concerns about the nature of his back injury.
Six fire crews, from Yate, Temple and Avonmouth stations, were in attendance and used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the man from the vehicle. He was then taken to hospital.
