Developer calls for more investment in employees
Developer Crest Nicholson Regeneration will be emphasising the importance of investing in employees through its backing of this year's Bath Business Awards.
The company, which is behind the regeneration scheme at Bath Riverside, is sponsoring the Training and Development Award at next month's event, organised by The Bath Chronicle.
Debbie Aplin, managing director of the firm, said the riverside scheme had created more than 200 jobs in the city including apprenticeships.
She said the company was working in partnership with Bath and North East Somerset Learning and Skills Partnership and City of Bath College to appoint a minimum of ten apprentices during the construction period.

She said: "Apprenticeships play an extremely important role in the construction industry, ensuring that we have a well skilled workforce for the future.
"Working with leading local colleges enables the education system to bring forward people to develop a range of useful skills, so we're pleased to be able to provide such opportunities for young people in Bath."
After their first year, the apprentices have the option of extending their contracts.
Ms Aplin added that Crest Nicholson Regeneration had been involved in Bath for many years.
She said: "It is only natural that we would want to be involved in one of the highlights of Bath's business calendar."
There are ten awards up for grabs at this year's Bath Business Awards, which is being held at Bath Racecourse on September 27.
The deadline for entries was last Friday.
