Curtailing your reviews is 'absolute nonsense'
I was astonished to learn that the Bath Chronicle intends to restrict its theatre reviews solely to plays performed at the Bath Theatre Royal.
What absolute nonsense. No one denies that the Theatre Royal has a fine reputation as a centre for a rich variety of theatrical productions.
However, any decision to downgrade or ignore the equally excellent work of The Mission Theatre, the Rondo Theatre, The Chapel Arts Centre, The Tobacco Factory and the many other drama groups that operate so effectively in the vicinity, would be short-sighted, insulting and reminiscent of the public burning of books and plays that has been a feature of so many repressive regimes in the past.
Please think again, before you alienate a whole generation of the region's theatre goers.

“I don't know about alienating a generation of theatre goers, the Chron (aka Northgate Media) has alienated most people who wish to read local news.....a travesty of decades of news gathering in Bath (and, of course, other towns and cities throughout the UK).”
