Stephanie, who won four silver medals and a bronze at the London Paralympics, said: "It's not hit home yet that I practically have five medals in front of me."
She arrived at the Springfield Leisure Centre to be presented with flowers and spent time signing autographs and giving people the opportunity to have their photo taken with her medals.
Among the well wishers was Stephanie's teacher from Corsham School Katrina Shillaker.
"She was really bright, really quiet, very humble but really really hardworking and sadly in 6th form she got MS and she was devastated but always kept going.
"She's a really lovely girl and we've always kept in touch," she Katrina.
Stephanie now hopes to inspire people to swim and achieve their goals: "I want to inspire everybody, give them something to dream about because I have realised my dream and done what I wanted to."
The Paralympian athlete is also hoping to achieve further success at the Paralympics in Rio 2016.
"I may have not got the gold yet but I am going to go to Rio and get it," she said.
