A search for new vegetarian cooking talent is under way in Bath.

Demuths restaurant and the Vegetarian Cookery School in Bath are looking for talented young chefs.

The competition will be judged in two age groups, 11-13 and 14-16.

Entrants should write a recipe for a delicious and imaginative main course meal, which is seasonal, creative and meat and fish-free, by September 1.

The best three recipes in each age group will win their creators a day at the cookery school on October 30.

The young chefs will then be asked to create their meals and complete an ingredient recognition quiz. The finalists' dishes will be judged by a panel of local food experts.

Prizes include a full day's course at the school, a set of Neff saucepans, a Rangemaster gadget pot full of utensils and a Kitchens voucher.
