City far from slick but still able to beat Buccs
City of Bath Hockey Club’s under-14 boys produced arguably their weakest performance of the Avon Junior League season to date but were still able to beat Team Bath Buccaneers 3-0.
After struggling to find their rhythm in foggy conditions, City eventually made the breakthrough via Alex Bullard before debutant Jack Mackay slotted home their second goal.
He also hit the post but Buccs conceded a third early in the second half when Joe Tait hit a tremendous reverse-stick shot into the roof of the net.
City took their foot off the gas a little but Dudley Adams made several crucial saves and Ollie Morris cleared a goalbound shot off the line in the dying seconds to protect the clean sheet.
