City of Bath and Whitchurch share ten goals in thrilling draw
CITY OF BATH MEN The 1sts were denied a deserved victory as they shared ten goals with a well-drilled Whitchurch B in a thrilling Davis Wood Conference North contest.
Two cracking goals from James Kellock and one from Alex Field earned City a 3-0 interval lead after they took the game to Whitchurch with some exhibition hockey.
Three goals in the space of four second-half minutes levelled the scores but Simon Sparkes crashed in a shot from the top of the D to restore City's lead.
Rhys Jones robbed a defender to make it 5-3 but Whitchurch closed the gap with a scrappy effort.

Sparkes then went off injured after a clash with a Whitchurch forward and they took the opportunity to score again and earn a fortunate point.
Dudley Bartlett earned the family bragging rights by scoring the only goal as his City of Bath A team defeated a Team Bath Buccs Ancient Mariners F side featuring his brother, Guy.
Mariners went into the game unbeaten in six matches but found themselves under pressure at the start.
Moore missed an open goal after being set up by Prentice as Mariners started to make their presence felt but they fell behind to Bartlett's goal from a well-drilled short-corner routine on the stroke of half-time.
Keeper Bray made an agile save but was otherwise untroubled by City after the interval, while Buccs could not convert their chances into an equaliser.
William Morrish scored City B's consolation goal in a 7-1 home hiding at the hands of East Central 1 leaders North Wilts.
Alex Barton and John Mahy scored two goals apiece as East Central 2 leaders City of Bath C overcame local rivals Team Bath Buccs Blades 5-4.
Blades gave City a scare and went 2-0 up through Sandey and Malthouse. The pair both scored again as the first half ended 4-4 but City went on to clinch the points thanks to a penalty flick after the break. Chris Fountain was City's other scorer.
