City of Bath men's 2nds are hoping for a favour from local rivals Team Bath Buccs F on Saturday as they look to win promotion from Davis Wood East Central 1.

A 7-1 victory at West Wilts C last weekend left City level on points with second-placed Chippenham A, whose goal difference is plus-three better.

The Wiltshire side – who have also scored more goals – host mid-table Buccs on the final day of the season while City entertain third-from-bottom Marlborough B.

Gary Ford found the net twice at Wilts on Saturday before leaving the field with a broken nose. City regrouped at half-time and scored at regular intervals, with Ally Stone, Mark Benfield, Sam Cope, Dudley Bartlett and Rich Charles-Jones all finding the net to keep their promotion dream alive.

City 3rds made sure of their place in the same division for next season after beating West Wilts B 2-1 at home.

Phil Swann and Andy Higgs were on target either side of a Wilts equaliser.

The 4ths wrapped up the East Central 2 title as they made it a hat-trick of victories over Wilts by beating the Warminster outfit’s E team 3-1 at Kingswood.

City 1sts went down 4-1 at Newent in their penultimate match. James Kellock cancelled out the hosts’ opener with a penalty-corner strike.
