Bristolian Lloyd earns European Tour card
GOLF: Bristol's Chris Lloyd has earned himself a place on the lucrative PGA European Tour after a stunning showing in Spain. Lloyd recorded the final day's best score – a five-under-par 67 – in the last qualifying stage in Catalunya to propel himself from joint-38th into the top 25 – and a place on next year's Tour. Lloyd said: "I just missed out on winning my tour card through the Challenge Tour season – and last year I came so close it was really frustrating."
