Choir to return to city with spectacular show
Fans from all over the UK will be travelling to see a Bath choir perform at the weekend after its members enjoyed TV fame earlier this year.
The City of Bath Male Choir, which now has a national profile following its appearances on BBC1's Last Choir Standing, will be performing at The Forum on Saturday.
-

The group, which was set up in January 2006 by Grenville Jones, now has 90 members.
Eighty of the singers will take to the stage on Saturday and perform songs seen on the prime-time TV talent show, including the Bachelors hit I Believe.
The annual concert, which has previously been held at the Guildhall, had to be moved to The Forum due to the high demand for tickets.
And the event looks set to be bigger than ever as more than 1,100 tickets have been sold.
Audience members will be travelling from as far as Manchester to see the men perform.
Mr Jones said: "I am really looking forward to it and the choir is singing so well. The sound is just getting better and better.
"We are getting people coming from across the country who have literally just seen us on TV. It really is quite remarkable.
"It is going to be a fantastic evening and we have sold so many tickets already.
"If we can fill The Forum then that is a huge achievement."
Also performing will be Lifted gospel group, which is led by Jo Sercombe and which was also a contender in the early stages of the show, and Mr Jones' women's harmony group, the Stockingtops.
The evening will be introduced by Bath MP Don Foster.
The men's group can also be heard on a new CD, which will be on sale from Monday, November 10.
The CD, called Last Choir Standing, will feature the men singing two hits performed on the BBC1 show – the Frankie Valli and Andy Williams hit Can't Take My Eyes Off You and the Beatles' Something.
It will be on sale in HMV in the city centre.
Mr Jones said: "I know they have had many requests already from Bath people who supported us when we were on the show.
"All in all, it has been quite a remarkable year.
"There is so much to look back on and look forward to and our concert at The Forum this Saturday will be a real celebration."
Tickets are priced from £10 and are available from the Festival Box Office on 01225 463362.

“Well if people want to attend the concert, regardless of where they live, that's fine by me!
I will not be attending the concert but I certainly hope to get a copy of the CD. It will help raise funds for the choir which will be needed to help keep the choir going.”

“Oh god here we go again...
I thought Grenville wanted to move on from the TV programme.
Can't imagine why you'd travel from Manchester so hear them sing the same songs again!!!”
