Choir impresses Boris at London launch
A gospel choir from Bath has performed at the launch of the country's biggest celebration of the gay scene.
Members of the Vocal Works Gospel Choir, with musical director Tim King, were invited by city mayor Boris Johnson to perform at City Hall in London this week.

The event was to mark the opening of the two-week Pride festival, and the choir provided the entertainment alongside comedian Stephen K Amos.
Mr Johnson said he was very impressed by VWGC's performance of songs such as Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Oh Happy Day and Rule The World. The choir had been recommended to the mayor following a previous corporate booking at City Hall earlier this year.
The choir has weekly corporate and wedding bookings throughout England, and has also enjoyed live performances on radio and TV, and sell-out concerts including its recent Broadway Soul show and an appearance at the Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon.
Later this month it will perform at the launch of the Story Of The Supremes exhibition in Bath with singer Mary Wilson and it has corporate work lined up with banking firm Abbey National.
The choir which features 50 of the region's most soulful singers was founded by Mr King in 2003, and has released two CDs. More information about VWGC can be found at www.vocalworks.co.uk
