China next frontier for £1bn Dyson
Revolutionary design from James Dyson and his Wiltshire team of world-beating engineers has powered record profits and a turnover of more than £1 billion.
Extraordinary engineering has pushed the profit the company will report to the City this morning up 30 per cent to £306 million. In the UK in 2011 Dyson sold, on average, a vacuum cleaner every 30 seconds. And the company is investing even more in the top brains it needs as it bids to export to China’s growing middle-class market .
It announced earlier this year it is recruiting another 300 engineers for its Malmesbury headquarters in Wiltshire, where it employs more than 1,500 people, half of them engineers.
