Chicken lorry crash sparks M4 chaos

There was carnage on the M4 yesterday morning when a lorry carrying live chickens was involved in a crash.

It happened just after 9.30am on the eastbound carriageway of the motorway, between junction 17 at Chippenham and 16 at West Swindon.

As many as seven vehicles were involved in the collision. One lane of the carriageway was blocked. Emergency services treated patients at the scene, but it is thought no-one needed hospital admission.
