Young chefs have been feeling the heat as they battled it out in a cookery competition.

The Chef v Chef contest, which is in its eighth year, was held at the Shrubbery restaurant at the City of Bath College and featured 11 professionals trying to make their name in the industry.

They each had two-and-a-half hours to impress the judging panel, of celebrity chef Martin Blunos, Jonathan Newberry from The Valley Smokehouse in Bristol, and Scott Lucas from The Craft Guild of Chefs.

The winners were Lewis Dixon, from Lumiere in Cheltenham, who was top in the Under 23s category, and Steve Whittaker, from Graze in Bristol, from the Over 23s. Some of the other competitors included Andrew Campbell, who works at the Royal Crescent Hotel, Hayley Smith, from The Bath Priory Hotel, and Martin Blake, from Homewood Park Hotel.
