A Castle Combe chef will be appearing on BBC 2 show The Great British Menu.

Richard Davies, executive chef at the Michelin starred Bybrook restaurant at The Manor House Hotel in Castle Combe is competing to win the honour of cooking at a special banquet at London's Royal Albert Hall for people associated with the Comic Relief charity.

For the show the chefs are challenged to prepare dishes that not only taste amazing but bring a smile to the face of the judging panel which this year will include a number of leading UK comedians and comedy writers. The dishes they present must celebrate the fun of Comic Relief.

This is not the first time Richard has taken part in the competition. Last year he competed in the Welsh heat but failed to make it through to cook for the judges.

He said: "It's a privilege to be asked to be on the show again. My past experience will hopefully help me progress further in the competition. Comic Relief is a great inspiration to create truly fantastic dishes."
