Flooding is continuing to cause widespread disruption in the West, with roads and railway routes severely affected this weekend.

As of midday on Saturday there were nine Environment Agency flood warnings and 16 less-serious flood alerts still in force in the region.

Police say the A361 New Road/Main Road is shut between the Riverside junction in Burrowbridge and Northmoor Lane, Lyng, in Somerset.

Flooding has also closed the B3135 The Cliffs in Cheddar in both directions between the Lippiatt junction and the B3371.

National Rail Enquiries' latest information is that the line between Yeovil Junction and Exeter St Davids is closed throughout the weekend because of planned engineering work which is now taking place alongside emergency repairs because of flooding.

Trains between Yeovil Junction and London Waterloo should run as normal.

CrossCountry and First Great Western operators are accepting each other's tickets between Bristol Temple Meads and Exeter St Davids.

First Great Western passengers with tickets dated for Friday can use them today.

Work repairing a landslip affecting services through Bristol is expected to continue until Tuesday, which is delaying trains between Swindon and Bristol Parkway by up to 30 minutes and between Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Parkway by an hour today and tomorrow.

Some CrossCountry services will not run between Birmingham New Street and Bristol Temple Meads. Buses are running from Bristol Parkway to Yate, Cam & Dursley, and Gloucester.

First Great Western sleeper services for Sunday have been cancelled. No alternative transport has been arranged.
