Cash prize for Odd Down Community Hub is welcomed
A scheme to create new sporting facilities in Odd Down is getting a £141,000 boost thanks to funding from the National Lottery and Sport England.
The cash injection for the Odd Down Community Hub, which will include a new mile-long cycling circuit, a full-size floodlit 3G astroturf pitch, improved grass pitches and new changing rooms at the playing fields, has been welcomed by Bath and North East Somerset Council.

It is part of the Olympic legacy Inspired Facilities fund and the idea is to make the most of the success of the 2012 Games and get more people playing sport.
Councillor David Dixon, B&NES cabinet member for neighbourhoods, hopes the new site will become a real focal point for the local community.

He said: "We're extremely grateful to the National Lottery and Sport England for their support for the Odd Down Community Hub.
"B&NES Council is keen to ensure that anyone inspired by last year's summer of sporting success has the chance to participate in sports and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
"The new site will be for everybody, from children and families to the more competitive sports enthusiast, and we're pleased to be working with local people so they can get actively involved in the delivery of improvements in their community."
Work is already under way on the new cycling circuit, funded by a £600,000 grant from British Cycling.
Sport England's chair Richard Lewis said the scheme in Bath was just one of many across the region benefiting from this type of funding.
He said: "This National Lottery investment will create a lasting sporting legacy for Bath and north east Somerset. This fund has really hit the mark with sports clubs in the South West.
"For hundreds of clubs and tens of thousands of people, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games were the reason their local sports facilities got better."
