"We don't use our attic and it is just a waste of space, so we decided to rent it out to make a bit of extra money. We have four children who all need money to do things.
"I work full-time, so can't do any more hours to bring in cash, so we thought about renting out the attic to make money."

“Thanks Dave for the info - I got it as well after trawling through the pages and was able to piece together three separate seemingly unrelated articles.
But tell me E-Badger, are your kin ..well how can I put it ... a bit, maybe,... the worrying kind?”

“This is another case of the online site divorcing colour filler pieces from their main articles so they lose all context. There is a website that has been marketing in Bath which aims to link up people with too much stuff (squirrels) with people with spare space (badgers - although what the connection is to badgers I've no idea!) and have had people leafleting round Bath - one dressed as a squirrel and one as a badger.

“Ignoring the bizarre headline and photo caption (badger?) renting loft storage space is not like renting a garage, for example roof structurer are not designed for storage and other than the roof itself, are not load bearing. Blocking ventilation can cause condensation, damp and mildew. Lofts are full of insulation, fibre glass is an irritant and in older properties there may be asbestos. Ready access to stored contents is limited, would you be willing to recover a box at someone else's convenience? There are insurance implications and change of use could affect premiums. Then there is fire risk assessment and liability for damage. Storing in roof spaces often breaks tenancy agreements, etc, etc. If all that and more has been considered then fine, but don't be surprised if an article in the local invalidates your NHBC warranty.”

“Badger ... person who works with badges ... stripey .. aggressive when cornered ... scapegoats for failed government policies ....?
Nope, no idea.”

“I'm at an absolute loss over this article; Googling hasn't helped. I'm guessing it's some scheme to rent out spare storage space similar to using Airbnb to rent spare rooms to short term lodgers but I can't find anything to explain it!”

“Despite my previous comment, it does look a cosy place to live. Worth every penny of,what -two, three, four hundred a month?”

“This publishing of this article is completely beyond my comprehension. I thought badgers were due for a cull so is the lady going to rent out her attic to some who are on the run? Or does she think she is a badger and if so, so what? I can think of worse. And what does Eric, two, make of all this?”

“Use your attic to grow... er... plants. You will make more money than merely renting out the space and you will be helping out the local community.”
