Car park misery
I am writing to tell of my experience whilst trying to visit your city for the day. I made the mistake of trying to park in Charlotte Street car park.
I wasn't impressed by the money-making scheme of the coin machines not offering change. Therefore, I decided to pay by card. I scoured the car park, to find that virtually every machine that said it took cards, then had a little sticker on it, saying cards not working.
When I did eventually find a machine that did allegedly accept cards, I stood in a queue because the process was incredibly slow, watching it decline the card of the person in front of me, then watch it decline all my cards. A couple of people managed to use a card, but it appeared to decline most people's.
In the end I was so frustrated, that I gave up and went home. In future I shall take my custom to a town or city which enables me to park with more ease. That car park must generate a lot of revenue for B&NES. Is it that difficult to maintain the ticket machines?

“Why not just keep some loose change in the car in that little holder identified in the handbook as the 'loose change holder? Surely your grand day out to Bath was about more than parking your car and I don't think your experience is unusual in any city. We might have caught you going through the bus gate or over Pulteney Bridge which is where we really make the big bucks.”
