Army-style early morning group fitness training sessions begin in Bath next week.

Fitness trainer Zita Alves is launching Bath Boot Camp – with a 6.45am start.

The open-air sessions beginning on Monday will take place three times a week on a four-week cycle and she says they will be hard work.

She says the camp will fill a gap in the area's health and fitness provision.

"Many people want to follow an exercise regime but they are reluctant to sign up for 12 months," she said.

"Boot camps are a cost-effective way to get personal training and the support and fun of working in a group."

She says she will also provide nutritional advice for participants.

"The camaraderie of working in a group plus the significant cost savings compared to working one-to- one with a personal trainer help motivate people to achieve amazing results in a short amount of time," she added.

"It's a really energising morning work-out, but don't expect it to be easy – hard and consistent work will yield fat loss and fitness to make you feel great."

The sessions will be held at Bear Flat, with sessions at 6.45am for 45 minutes at Beechen Cliff School and in Alexandra Park at 9.45am – which is for women only, lasting an hour.

Each four-week regime costs £99 and Ms Alves is offering a money-back guarantee to anyone who follows nutritional and exercise guidelines but is not happy with the results.
