Big Chances for Halston Heritage
Halston Heritage has long been considered to be an iconic American designer brand, which just last year saw Sarah Jessica Parker helping out at its helm. The brand name has undergone a huge number of changes since Halston’s inception in the 60’s, and 2012 has been yet another big year when it comes to change and reorganisation for the brand.
2012 sees Halston Heritage upping sticks and moving to Los Angeles, which the brand new CEO of the company, Ben Malka, claims is the “hidden secret for fashion”. Malka appears to be a name to be trusted, as he has a fair bit of experience under his belt, with 16 years spent with BCBG. Thanks to his close relationship with the store, there are even already strong rumours that Halston Heritage will begin to be stocked at Bloomingdale’s. There’ll be a number of lucky new staff members joining the team, and plenty of new Halston stores popping up all over the United States as well.
If nothing else, L.A. is certainly big on celebrities, perhaps one of the reasons that it has been considered to be a good move for Halston. In the past they have enjoyed the support of some seriously big celebrity names, such as the legendary Elizabeth Taylor and the iconic Andy Warhol. It’s no wonder that Halston has become synonymous with pop culture, and that could be an image that they’re hoping to revive.
Halston Heritage’s collections are as exciting as ever, and they remain at the forefront of design when it comes giving classic looks a more modern twist. Halston’s take on the retro jumpsuit is simply sensational. The fabrics and designs lend themselves to an overall feeling of fluidity, and it’s not difficult to imagine the draping fabrics and little black dresses being paraded alongside the sandy beaches of Los Angeles.
The Editeur are a fair few miles away from L.A., but are still excited to see what sort of an influence this new move and new team will have upon Halston Heritage’s iconic collections. The designer womenswear boutique is based in Chester, and stock a selection of Halston Heritage pieces, and are huge lovers of the way the brand have effortlessly managed to combine old and new ideas. The boutique also stock a number of other much loved designer names, such as Mimi Holliday, 7 For All Mankind, and Issa.
