Beechen Cliff School shooting squad do double over Dauntseys
Beechen Cliff School's shooting squad achieved their first-ever clean sweep over Wiltshire rivals Dauntseys as both the A and B teams won this week.
Year 10 pupil Rufus Jones captained the teams and motivated his shooters by sending the most experienced marksmen to talk through the finer points of target sighting.
The A team recorded an impressive 479 points, eight more than Dauntseys managed, with top scorer Xavier Tobin claiming 98 out of a possible 100.
Year 7 new boys William Sayers and Peter Brindley, the youngest pupils ever to participate in the inter-school competition, then posted scores of 95 and 90 respectively to help Beechen’s B team win 371-370.
