Bath traders to brush up
Shopkeepers in Bath are being encouraged to buy a broom to help keep the city's streets clean and tidy.
The suggestion has been made after the Bath in Bloom Committee presented the Mallory Cup for the shop with the cleanest pavement and frontage to the Framing Workshop in Walcot Street.
-

Committee chairman Barry Cruse said the organisation was about more than just flowers.
He said: "We did it to encourage shops to buy a broom and keep their shop frontages clean and tidy. We know there are lots of shops which already keep their area tidy but we would like to see it rolled out across the city.

“It's not so much the traders that need a brush up but the dirty people of Bath and it's Welsh visitors that mess the place up.”

“Perhaps a brush and hoepipe could find its way to the underpass linking Spring Gardens Rd and Grove St, the mess from the Indian resturant on Pulteney Bridge with their rubbish bins and fans blowing from the kitchens is a health hazard. Note to Bath councils health inspectors- find your way down there.”
