Bath skipper Robin Lett: Rain ruins chance to close gap
1st XI skipper Robin Lett is left frustrated after the weather thwarts his side...
Rain played a key role in the fortunes of Bath CC last weekend, with both the 1st and 3rd team fixtures washed out.
However, the 2nd XI produced a comfortable six-wicket victory over their Bristol counterparts, mainly due to the dazzling figures of Simon Marchant, who picked up 7-14.
The 4ths continue to search for their first win of the season as they went down by six wickets to Avonside, while Wanderers had a fantastic, nail-biting win over Hayes as they snuck over the line by one wicket thanks to a crucial 27 not out from Moira Comfort.

We were fortunate in some respects last weekend as West of England Premier 1 leaders Bridgwater lost to Taunton St Andrews at the Wyvern Club but I can't help but feel a sense of missed opportunity.
Ours was the only game across Premier 1 and 2 to be called off and, had we won it, we would only be sitting six or seven points behind the table-toppers right now. As it is, the gap is 19 as we only made up a point from Bridgy's loss.
I do have some exciting news to announce this week, though. In a major coup for Bath Cricket Club, we have secured the signature of Australian Test match opening batsman Ed Cowan, for two matches in July.
He will be in England with the Australia A side but will be playing for us against Bridgwater on July 7 and Taunton Deane on July 14 and I am really hopeful that this inclusion will galvanise the side at the midway point of a long season.
As for next week, If you are not doing anything on Saturday, get yourself down to North Parade where we will be taking on local rivals Corsham.
The Wiltshire side have looked very impressive at times this year and the derby encounter is sure to be as fiery as always.
