Bath school boys get stuck into baking for charity
Boys at a Bath secondary school have been showing off their baking skills for a charity cake sale.
Members of Milton House, at Beechen Cliff School, persuaded family and friends to help them bake, buy and donate more than 700 sweet treats for their mammoth display.

They managed to get rid of all the items during two 15-minute break times and a small stand at the Year 9 parents' evening, raising £255 for local dementia research charity the Research Institute for the Care of Older People (RICE).
Head of house Kate May said everyone had enjoyed getting involved and raising money for a good cause while having fun.

“I find that the instructions for a good basic meal are on the back of the packet along with the nutrition value, whereas I've not found a cake that you can microwave. So well done lads.”

“Ah, cakes are all very well but can these youngsters prepare a good basic meal for themselves? Probably not! Let's see more of this 'baking' carried out but make sure that youngsters are taught the 'ground rules' of baking and nutrition. It is not simply all about baking cakes.”
