They are expected to be regular visitors to the three Theatre Royal auditoria – the Main House, the Ustinov and the egg.

There is an opportunity for board members to attend opening nights in London of plays produced by the production company, Theatre Royal Bath Productions – often before they go on regional tour.

The role of board members is to provide oversight of the executive team's activities in the short term and to help in the long-term planning of the theatre's development.

Applicants are asked to submit a CV and covering letter, explaining why they wish to be a board member and the qualities and skills they feel they can bring to the organisation.

The theatre, which was built in 1805, is operated by a registered charity.

Applicants should send their application to Nicky Palmer, Theatre Royal Bath, Sawclose, Bath, BA1 1ET before February 8.
