Bath Rugby will give France 7s specialist Jacques Boussuge a chance to pull on the blue, black and white jersey on Friday to determine whether he merits a two to three-week trial at The Rec.

The 25-year-old winger has been training with Bath this week at the club's pre-season camp in Provence. And the Montpellier speedster will get the chance to shine during Bath's first warm up match of the year on Friday evening against French second-tier side Pays d'Aix.

Should Boussuge impress he will be invited back to England for a further trial with Bath.

Speaking from France this evening, Bath chief executive Nick Blofeld told the Chronicle: "We're a bit light in the back three and we're looking for someone with gas - and Jacques certainly has that.

"Jacques is looking to relaunch his career and we are taking a look at him.

"He has been training with us all week and if it goes well on Friday then we'll invite him back to Bath for a two or three-week trial."
