Bath infant school pupil Emily, 5, wins firework safety poster competition

Thousands of people could see five-year-old Emily Wallace's artwork after she won a firework safety poster contest.

The Oldfield Park Infant School pupil was judged overall winner in the design competition organised by Bath Building Society in the run-up to the fireworks display at the Recreation Ground on Saturday, November 3.

Emily and 14 other finalists received their prizes and certificates at a ceremony at the Guildhall, and her design could now be used as the basis for posters for next year's event.

She said: "Designing the poster was so much fun. I now know how to stay safe on the fireworks night and I'm really looking forward to the display."

Age group winners were Charlie Day, Lily Enright and Milly Anderson. The special schools award was won by Aaron Conner of Three Ways.
