Bath businesses enlisted in bid to improve health of city
Businesses across Bath and north east Somerset are being urged to improve the health of their staff by signing up to the Workplace Wellbeing Charter.
The charter is part of the Get a Life campaign, run by Sirona Care and Health and The Bath Chronicle, which aims to make Bath the healthiest city in Britain.
Health specialists at Sirona are urging businesses to sign up, and be guided through a process which means they achieve national health standards.
Benefits include improved staff productivity and performance, reduced absenteeism and lower stress.

Sirona is keen to sign up employers of all shapes and sizes.
Health development manager Justin Wride said: "There are wide-ranging benefits to employers and to employees from the charter which is available to any public, voluntary or commercial sector organisation."
Sirona and Bath and North East Somerset Council are among the first to sign up.
Mr Wride said: "It is a win win for everyone as there is improved staff productivity and performance, reduced staff absenteeism, increased work productivity, and fewer staff injuries. Carrying out the assessment gives your company a health check and is simple to do. We are here to give help and support."
An event is being hosted at Bath Rugby to promote the charter, for members of Bath Chamber of Commerce, while this week has also seen special sessions for council workers wanting to quit smoking.
In the first three months of this year, Sirona chairman Simon Knighton wants to have recruited 750 people to give up smoking, get 500 people to pledge to lose weight, and persuade three businesses to sign up to the charter.
