Bath Rugby prop Paul James celebrates Six Nations triumph after Wales' demolition of England
Paul James was by far the happier of Bath Rugby’s two props on Six Nations duty last night as Wales retained the RBS 6 Nations crown with a record 30-3 victory over England at the Millennium Stadium.
James replaced captain Gethin Jenkins at loosehead with 19 minutes to go and helped dominant Wales shatter England’s Grand Slam dreams in front of a delirious Cardiff crowd.
Wales needed to win by at least seven points to overtake England at the top of the standings, led 9-3 at half-time before winger Alex Cuthbert’s try double and eight points from Dan Biggar gave the scoreline a deservedly one-sided look.
James packed down opposite Bath club-mate Davey Wilson for the final eight minutes after the former Newcastle Falcons man came on for England’s first-choice tighthead, Dan Cole.
