Bath Olympic stars show circus gymnasts the ropes
Olympic gymnast Jennifer Pinches and Bath's Team GB rhythmic gymnasts Jade Faulkner and Lynne Hutchinson were the special guests at the biggest festival of gymnastics in the West this year.
Teams of young gymnasts from across the region travelled to the Wellsprings centre in Taunton with morning and afternoon performances centred around the theme ‘Circus and Fairground’.

The teams included youngsters from Cheltenham, Cirencester, Bath, Nailsea, Weston, Yeovil, Barnstaple, Blandford and Dorchester.
“We had 26 teams of gymnasts attending throughout the day, all of a variety of ages and abilities, disability gymnasts and adult groups performing, as well tots doing cheerleading,” said organiser Katie Irwin, the manager of the British Gymnastics South West development team.

She added that she was delighted Jennifer could attend. The 18-year-old announced her retirement from competitive gymnastics after the London 2012 games, in which she posted two personal best scores as Team GB made it through to the finals and finished a very creditable sixth.
