Bath Ministry of Defence sites all now sold
The city’s three MoD sites have all been sold for development as staff continue to leave Bath.
Buyers for the three sites at Warminster Road, Foxhill and Ensleigh have all been chosen, but their identity is being kept under wraps by MoD bosses.

A report to Bath and North East Somerset Council’s housing and major projects policy development and scrutiny panel revealed that the sites had been sold but did not disclose who had bought them.
A spokesman for the MoD confirmed all three sites had been bought but said he could not reveal who the buyers were. He said an announcement was likely to be made soon.

Social landlord Curo was one of the companies to make a bid for the Foxhill site.
However, the group said it had not heard from the MoD so did not know if it had been successful.
The sales come as the MoD moves more of its staff out of Bath.
Both the Warminster Road and Foxhill sites will be vacated by the end of this month. The 50 staff still based at Ensleigh are expected to remain there until 2018.
The MoD announced its departure from Bath back in 2011. Collectively the three sites employed almost 2,000 civil servants.
Part of the Ensleigh site has already been sold to developer Skanska. The firm has submitted a planning application to B&NES Council for 40 homes including one and two bedroom apartments, and four and five-bedroom houses.
Access to the housing development will be primarily from Granville Road, though several of the houses will be accessed from Collier’s Lane.
Members of the public have until April 12 to comment on the application.
To view the application in full visit www.bathnes.gov.uk and search application number 13/00734/FUL.

“But now the B&NES Lib Dems and Tories have linked up to reduce the affordable aspect of new homes required by developers in the 106 agreements from 35% to 30%, without consultation, expect pitifully few for those who truly need homes to rent. Expect private landlords to buy up many and see the developers rake in the profits on the backs of the desperate and poor.
If B&NES are happy for the Housing Benefit bill to increase then so be it!”

“Expect to read of many accidents in the narrow Collier's Lane, though I'm sure the proposals said that traffic would be discouraged from using Collier's Lane between Larkhall and Ensleigh.”
