“Well done to all involved. As I was waiting for my running friends to pass, I was struck by quite how many people were taking part. Standing on a bend as I was, it seemed like a veritable wall of people continuously coming towards me and I'm amazed I managed to spot my friends. I'm naively inspired to have a go myself but as I've never run apart from on a treadmill in a gym, I'm not sure how this will go!”

“It was overall a fantastic day and very well organised; thankyou to all the crowds who braved the cold to cheer us on - they make such a difference. Also thankyou to the other runners who are invariably cheerful and good natured throughout.
My only point for the organisers to consider would be about runner congestion. I had trained to do a 2h half marathon but ended up doing over 2h. This was partly because of heavy congestion near the start ( I had been given an orange bib), and even on the lower Bristol Road after 4 or 5 miles where the mass of runners are restricted to half of the carriageway to avoid the elite runners. Whereas I had intended to start on a very steady just under 10 min mile, I could only do the first mile in 10.5 min due to the crush. For those of us who train for 3 or 4 months beforehand it is a little disappointing to be slowed due to the congestion, and then have to use valuable energy to dart in and out of others as they slow. Perhaps I could have a green bib next time? That apart, it was great day.”
