Bath Croquet Club all set to start 2013 season at The Rec
The new croquet season gets under way today, with Bath Croquet Club looking to build on the national success they enjoyed last year.
Harry Dodge, one of the club’s youngest members, was rewarded for his fine form during 2012 by being named as the most improved golf croquet player in the UK by the Croquet Association.

People will be given the chance to try the sport later this year when Bath stage a charity open day at their Recreation Ground base, raising funds for Dorothy House.
It will take place from 10am-5pm on Saturday, May 11 and all equipment will be provided. Guests are simply asked to wear flat-soled shoes.

Meanwhile, more than 40 members of the club were treated to a fascinating talk by Andrew Willis about the history of croquet in Bath last Friday.
The sport, and indeed national tournaments, have been played at The Rec for more than 100 years. There were also some fascinating archive photographs on display.
