Bath City confident of avoiding cup upset against Odd Down
Head coach Lee Howells says he sees “no reason” why Bath City can’t win the Somerset Premier Cup this season as they prepare to face local rivals Odd Down at Mayday Trust Park.
Tonight's quarter-final tie will be the first time the Bath teams have met in the competition since the Downers’ famous 4-3 extra-victory over a virtually full-strength City side in November 2002.

Howells also expects to name a strong team for tonight's game (7.45pm) but is confident of avoiding another upset against the Toolstation Premier Division high-fliers.
“If we can’t pick a team to beat Odd Down... we should be good enough to win a game of football, there is no doubt about that,” he said.

“We’ve got 15 players, so there isn’t a lot we can do to rotate the squad. If some of the lads need a rest we’ll put some Academy boys in but there will be first-teamers in there as well.
“There is no reason why we can’t go on and win the competition now. Why not?”
City have won the Premier Cup 22 times in their history but only once since 1994-95, with two goals from Dave Gilroy and a Martin Paul strike sealing a 3-0 win over Paulton Rovers in the 2007-08 final.
Jim Rollo scored one of only nine career goals for City when they last played the Downers, with Andy Minturn and Jason Eaton also on target.
However, Nick Wilson and Tariq Whitecliffe (2) forced extra-time, in which keeper Tristan Westlake saved an Eaton penalty before Andy Weeks stabbed in the winner.
Larkhall Athletic are also away to Paulton Rovers in the cup tonight.
