Steph Barker’s early goal set Team Bath Buccs ladies 1sts on the way to an important 2-0 win at Lydney in the West Clubs League Premier Division 1.

The sides went into the game level on points, with Buccs looking to avenge their 5-3 defeat in the reverse fixture in order to keep pace with the top three.

Barker found the backboard inside three minutes after good build-up play and Em White, Wendy Britten, Lara Williamson and Vicky Warner all threatened the Lydney goal in the first half.

Helen Earle doubled the visitors’ advantage following a short-corner routine, while eager keeper Kelly Bowden denied Lydney a sniff of a chance at the other end.

Buccs 2nds were beaten 4-1 at home to Yeovil & Sherborne in Premier 2B, while the 3rds suffered a 3-0 setback at the hands of Devizes.

Livvy Wills was at the double for the 4ths in a 3-0 victory over Chippenham 2nds, with Beth Anderson joining her on the scoresheet.

Buccs 5ths were only able to field nine players for their Brunel Division 2 match at Knowle and were beaten 3-1. Jo Donkin pulled one back for the visitors, who produced a great effort to keep Knowle at bay in a scoreless second half.
