Ball helps to build big sum of money for cancer cause

A charity ball raised more than £3,000 for the Forever Friends Appeal.

The Brunel Dinner, held by The Great Western branch of the Forum for the Building Environment (FBE), took place at the Thistle Grand Hotel in Bristol.

Guests were treated to a three-course meal and entertainment, and raised £3,700 for the Cancer Care campaign, which aims to improve cancer services at the Royal United Hospital.

Kier Construction director Richard Davis hosted the sell-out evening.

He said: "I am thrilled with the amount raised from a truly enjoyable evening and would like to thank everyone who came along and made the event a great success and for us to be able to support the campaign."

The money will help the appeal raise £5 million towards the construction of a new cancer centre, which will bring all services under one roof, and provide a positive environment for both staff and patients.

FFA corporate officer Kate Bruhl said: "I am extremely grateful to FBE for choosing to support our campaign.

"We really value the corporate support to help us achieve our £5 million target."
