With all eyes on Cheltenham this month – and the news that Harry Topper will miss the festival after a mishap at Kelso – excitement is building for the season ahead.

It’s just over a month until Bath Racecourse’s Season Opening night, which will kick off an exciting few months of events and action.

The curtain-raiser, taking place from 5-8pm on Friday, April 19, will feature seven races including the action-packed Lansdowne Fillies Stakes.

It promises both thrills on the course and a chance to enjoy a unique evening atmosphere. We recommend booking in advance to save yourself some cash.

We have also produced our new 2013 brochure, which is ready to download at www.bath-racecourse.co.uk. You’ll find details of this year’s calendar of events, which has been designed to incorporate the best in entertainment, hospitality, family days out and quality racing.

Highlights for spring already confirmed include a family fun day for the May Day Bank Holiday. As well as the racing itself, children’s tickets include a picnic lunch, face painting and a magical session with storyteller Sarah Mooney.

Kids are invited to bring a favourite barnyard toy, a cosy blanket or cushion to sit on and enjoy farmyard-themed tales at the races.
