Antiques market opens up new trading opportunity
A new market which hopes to boost the antiques trade in Bath got off to a promising start this month.
Bath Vintage and Antiques (VA) launched a new traders' market on the second Tuesday of the month at Green Park Station.
Naomi Knight, from BathVA, said traders had been calling for such an event.
She said: "Myself and antiques trader John Hugo have started this new market due to a high demand by traders for a week day market."

The focus for the market is primarily trade but members of the public are welcome too.
BathVA already organises the monthly Sunday market held on the last Sunday of every month, and the newly launched fashion fair, which is held twice a year.
The traders market got off to a good start last week offering casual shoppers and serious buyers an array of furniture, pictures, ornaments, books and toys.
Andy Vellacott, from AK Homestart Furnishings, has been selling antiques and restored furniture at markets across the region for more than ten years.
He said times had been tough but a new market was a good opportunity.
He said: "It's been quite slow generally especially over the past three months and I don't think the Olympics helped.
"It's been all right here today. At the end of the day if you take a £1 here and a £1 there it's better than nothing."
Karl Connor, from Bath who usually attends the BathVA Sunday markets said a Tuesday market could be good for business.
He said: "It's great we're getting people off the main run and people seem to be looking and buying.
"I come to the once a month market but a Tuesday one is a great idea to give people the opportunity to buy midweek when they've maybe got more time."
The next BathVA Trade market will take place on Tuesday, October 9 from 7.30am.
