'Amazing recovery' of 13-year-old footballer who had cardiac arrest on pitch
A 13-year-old boy who suffered a cardiac arrest during a youth football match is making a good recovery after undergoing surgery.
Quinton Barham, pictured, who lives in Trowbridge and plays for Bradford Town Youth, fell ill during an under 14 cup game at Bromham near Devizes on Sunday, February 3.
His parents say he has amazed doctors with his miraculous recovery and is now talking, waving and smiling from his hospital bed. Quinton has been at the Bristol Royal Infirmary since his collapse and underwent a successful heart bypass operation on Friday afternoon.
Although he still remains in intensive care, it is hoped he will be moved on to a ward over the next few days.
