£500,000 James Dyson Foundation grant to help young engineers
Budding young engineers have been getting first-hand experience of life on the job during a workshop at a Keynsham secondary school.
Wellsway School is one of five in Bath and north east Somerset getting a share of a half-million pound donation from the James Dyson Foundation.

To mark the occasion, an engineer from the team spent the morning at the school showing off the new equipment which they will be getting in September and challenging the pupils to come up with their own prototypes and ideas.
They were encouraged to sketch, build, test and review machines that solve a problem around the topic of air.

All of the five schools, which also includes Ralph Allen and Hayesfield, will be getting laser scanners, 3D printers, routers and other industry-standard machines which are used every day by Dyson engineers.

“...and now children the 'kind' Mr Dyson will teach you how to con people in to working for you and get you up and running and then show you how to 'dump' them and move your bussiness over to the Far East so that a buch of poor kids can make you a very, very wealthy person. Then to avoid paying to much tax you (so call) 'donate' your cash to lil' kiddies at school! Very conning eh!”

“Our schools need more of these sorts of partnerships and collaboration, give kids a taste of life in the real world and an appetite for it.”
