BEECHEN CLIFF The under-14s let a three-goal lead slip in the final 10 minutes as they had to settle for a draw against Clifton College.

Joe Battrick headed home just before half-time following a free-kick from Liam Burcombe, who doubled the lead with a 20-yard left-footed strike.

Oswin made it 3-0 after a neat turn but Clifton staged a late recovery to deny the victory.

The under-14B team came from behind to beat their Clifton counterparts 2-1.

Jack Golf kept Beechen in the contest with some fine saves before Lucas Slowik levelled with a fine shot from the edge of the area after good work down the right by Kieron Pincott.

The comeback was sealed when Ben Reynolds ended a mazy run with an exquisite finish past the keeper.

Coach Nick Quintin was pleased with the under-15A team's 2-0 win over Clifton College, courtesy of an Oliver Bamsey brace.

"We stuck at it and passed the ball extremely well on an excellent surface," said Quintin.

"I was particularly pleased with our performance in defence."

Stand-out performer at the back was Joe Raynes, while Ashley Robinson provided the through-ball for Bamsey's second.

Will Andrews led the way with a first-half hat-trick as the under-15B side ran out 13-0 winners against Clifton.

Josh Winchcombe bagged a brace and Paddy Curtis continued his extraordinary record of scoring in every game he has played for Beechen since Year 7.
