Get ready for Christmas with two ghost stories by MR James on Saturday at the Rondo Theatre at 8pm. The two stories are told by Nunkie Theatre Company.

A firm Christmas favourite is Handel's Messiah By Candlelight with the orchestra in period costume at the Theatre Royal Bath. It takes place on Sunday at 7.30pm.

Bath Spa Band will be giving a Christmas concert at 7.30pm at St Bartholomew's Church, King Edward Road, Oldfield Park on Saturday at 7.30pm

If you enjoyed the light show at Holburne Museum in Bath last Christmas, make a date to see this year's spectacular event created by Martin Richman and Charlie Kerr. It is open daily until January 9 except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

The Bath Chronicle Carol Service takes place at Bath Abbey on Tuesday, December 11 at 6.30pm. Entry is free but by ticket only.

Community choir Bradford Choral will be performing Friday night at the Holy Trinity Church, Bradford on Avon, and the programme will include The Christmas Story by Heinrich Scutz. The concert begins at 7.30pm and tickets are £10, half price for children. Visit www.boachoral.org.uk.

Bath Artisan Market – Early Bird Christmas Shopping Market takes place at Green Park Station, Bath, on Sunday from 9.30am until 4pm. Come and spend Sunday at Bath's newest market where there are over 60 stalls selling food, handmade, upcycled, vintage and artisan gifts.

Ahoy Maties! Long John Silver 'ere requesting your company for a swashbucklin', adventurous pantomime experience! There'll be thrills, spills and treasure chests galore as Bath University Student Theatre Company presents Treasure Island – The Pantomime at Institute Of Contemporary Interdisciplinary Arts (ICIA), Bath. It starts on Thursday (6th) and runs until Saturday.

The Xcerts take a break from the studio test drive a few new songs at Bath's Moles on Thursday (6th). The hard-rocking trio are currently penning their third album and follow up to 2011's Scatterbrain. £3.
